Digitisation in Music – A Convergent Timeline

This interactive timeline showcases the changes in music as a result of digitisation. The timeline is a conglomerate of media resources from a variety of sources. The sources are linked with > at the end of the item.

There are multiple layers to the timeline.

The first showcases the various technological developments in the digitisation of music media including changes from the radio, vinyl record, cassette tape, compact disc, mp3 right through to streaming media.

The second layer has embedded media, which will include songs, videos and links to related articles, representing or analysing each of the changes.
